Meet our Sponsored Child
Say hello to Tania Alvarez Macajola. Last week, Allie and I decided that we wanted to sponsor a child. I even tweeted about it and received dozens of helpful suggestions on the best organizations to consider.
Children.org
After reviewing a handful of sites, we decided to go with Children.org. We selected an adorable little girl who lives in one of the poorest parts of Guatemala. At around $25 per month (flat rate for all sponsors), we should all consider helping. Her family makes about $180 per month. As I write this blog posting on a computer that cost more than they make in a year, I feel a bit sick and overly blessed.
Sorry for the shabby photo above. It was taken hastily with my iPhone – a luxury gadget that costs more than Tania’s family makes in a month. Some things just aren’t fair…
